Write Around the Murray Authors Speak!

Write Around the Murray 2025 has some stellar author panel talks lined up discussing some of the genres readers love the most.

Opening Night is ladies’ night. On Wednesday 10 September we have an author panel talk dedicated to romance, chick lit and all your happily ever after fiction. We are swooning over our two guest authors, Eden Summers and Mel Saward, who will be on stage with moderator Elise Fletcher from 6pm at the Albury LibraryMuseum.

On Saturday afternoon 13 September the godmother of Australian YA fantasy, Isobelle Carmody, will join playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer and moderator Sera Jonas Jakob to talk about Fantastical Fiction. This will be immediately followed by a panel all about comics called Making the Mightiest Heroes featuring Shane McCarthy, Kieran Jack and Angie Spice.

And on Sunday morning 14 September, WAM will feature four panels including Killers on the Loose – a talk dedicated to female crime writers Dinuka McKenzie, Kate Emery and Vikki Wakefield whose latest releases all feature strong female protagonists. This panel will be moderated by Hilde Hinton.

All these panels are included as part of the WAM Festival Pass ($75/$40) or you can purchase a ticket for individual talks for $25 ($15 concession).

Albury’s writers’ festival returns with 70 events across five days and multiple venues.

This year Write Around the Murray will welcome Jane Caro’s book, Lyrebird, as the WAM Book of the Festival. Jane is just one of several crime authors coming to town.
As well as whodunnits, WAM will also feature romance writers, fantasy authors, illustrators, playwrights, slam poets and three comic creators. Plus, WAM will be launching the latest Macca the Alpaca book, Alpacas in Space. Come meet author/illustrator Matt Cosgrove and his own real life furry four-legged best friend.
