Discover the world of photopolymer plate printing. Dianne brings a wealth of experience to this weekend workshop. She has a recognised expertise in this area of print making. You can choose to make a drawing on drafting film to create an intaglio photopolymer plate/print or you can use a digital photograph to create a print. For both of these processes the image on film is exposed onto a photopolymer plate in sunlight or using a UV exposure unit. The plate is washed out in tap water, dried and hardened, and then printed onto dampened paper to produce a beautiful intaglio print. This is a safe printmaking process and the results can be varied and wonderful. Each student will make 1 or 2 x A5 prints plus test plates. The printmaking technique produces fine line prints with excellent quality, highlighting one of the photopolymer plate key benefits. It is perfect for printing complicated designs generating crisp, exact patterns. In comparison to conventional metal plates, photopolymer plates are robust with excellent resistance to wear and tear. Max 8 Participants.
