Wild Lines: Michael Beeson and Paul Turriff

The Corowa Art Space is proud to host its third annual exhibition from The Art Factory studio, ‘Wild Lines: Michael Beeson & Paul Turriff’.

Paul Turriff joined The Art Factory studio two years ago and quickly began exploring mixed media, including acrylics, inks, and ceramics. Inspired by the colours and markings in nature, alongside personal memories, Paul brings a vibrant energy to his work. In this exhibition, his approach is characterised by gestural, immediate lines. Paul has actively developed his creative practice and exhibited in several group shows across Wagga Wagga.

Michael Beeson has been attending The Art Factory Studio for over five years, establishing himself as an accomplished artist. His work explores the relationship between memory, landscape, and daily life, drawing inspiration from quiet rural moments and family life. Michael works across mixed media, including ceramics, acrylic painting, and embroidery. In contrast to Paul’s swift marks, Michael employs considered line markings to surround his colour

‘Wild Lines’ presents a fascinating dialogue between these two talents, showcasing how the theme of the domestic environment can lead to different visual outcomes. Turriff’s energetic, immediate lines contrast beautifully with Beeson’s more deliberate markings, offering the public an exciting opportunity to appreciate the diversity of contemporary art practice. Wild Lines runs until January 11th, visitors can explore the show between Tuesday to Friday, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm and on Saturdays 10 am – 2 pm.
