Calling creatives and storytellers! 🎶
We are so excited to announced that Mimi Gilbert (USA) is coming to town to host an intimate songwriting workshop in Beechy – all the way from Los Angeles, USA!
Ahead of their show at the Old Stone Hall on 14 March (with Ruby Gill), Mimi has agreed to spend the morning leading locals in an inspiring class designed to connect you to your own voice, spark new ideas and link up with other locals channelling their creativity in interesting ways.
Come for the up-close inspiration, and stay for the community energy.
More about Mimi Gilbert
Currently based in LA and touring internationally, Mimi is an acclaimed songwriter, guitarist and poet who has spent 10+ years honing their craft as a street performer, recording and performing artist, and session musician in beloved bands like Julia Jacklin, Merpire and Alex Lahey. Mimi discovered a love for writing songs as a 12 year old on their parents’ rural property in a small desert town of California. They would hide lyrics and notebooks around the orchard for fear of being found out as an aspiring songwriter…
Now a proudly independent artist, Mimi is here to share insights from their journey, perform a song or two, and guide us through unique writing activities. This is a one-morning-only event not to be missed, whether you’re a songwriter, a poet, or just someone curious about telling your story.
Bookings are essential!
Bring a pen, paper and curiosity ✨
Instruments are welcome if you’re wanting to explore playing on the day. We will have some guitars and keyboards around if you don’t own an instrument but want to try something on the day too.
