We focus on fostering arts and cultural development across the Border and surrounding regions through facilitation, participation, and promotion. As dedicated advocates for our region’s creative community and its industries, we collaborate closely with individuals, communities, and local governments to deliver projects that enrich the cultural fabric of our area.
Murray Arts is one of 15 Regional Arts Boards in NSW and also part of the Regional Arts Victoria Cultural Network. We service the local government areas of Albury City, Greater Hume and Federation in NSW and Wodonga City, Indigo and Towong in Victoria.

OUR REGION
Our footprint borders the Indigenous Nations of Duduroa, Yaithmathang, Bangerang, Wiradjuri, Yorta Yorta and Wavaroo and encompasses the local government areas of Albury City, Federation Shire, Greater Hume Shire, Indigo Shire, Towong Shire and Wodonga City.
Federation Shire
Federation Shire, located in the Murray region of New South Wales, is a picturesque rural area known for its rich agricultural heritage, charming towns such as Corowa and Urana, and proximity to the beautiful Murray River.
Greater Hume Shire
Greater Hume Shire encompasses the towns of Holbrook, Culcairn, and Henty, and is known for its strong agricultural industry as well as its historical landmarks like the Holbrook Submarine Museum and the annual Henty Machinery Field Days.
Towong Shire
Towong Shire is a picturesque rural area known for its stunning natural landscapes, including the Snowy Mountains and the Upper Murray region, offering outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and skiing, as well as charming towns like Tallangatta and Corryong.
Indigo Shire
Indigo Shire, located in North East Victoria, is a scenic rural region known for its historic towns such as Beechworth and Rutherglen, rolling vineyards, and beautiful countryside, offering a blend of heritage and natural beauty.
Albury City
Albury, located on the border of New South Wales and Victoria, is a vibrant regional city known for its rich history, beautiful parks, and as a gateway to the scenic Murray River.
Wodonga
Wodonga, situated on the Victoria side of the NSW Border, is a thriving regional town known for its picturesque landscapes, strong community spirit, and proximity to the Murray River.

We support artists, crafters, musicians, filmmakers, and creative professionals with tailored advice on project development, business development, funding, and advocacy. Each year, we offer programs to build skills, capacity, and resilience in the region’s arts sector.
We work alongside the First Nations community by supporting and promoting authentic arts practice, cultural events, and initiatives that celebrate and preserve local Aboriginal heritage and traditions.
Murray Arts engages with the creative and wider communities across our footprint by facilitating collaborative projects, supporting local artists, and delivering programs that enhance cultural expression, social inclusion, and economic development throughout the region.
Murray Arts collaborates with our six local councils across our footprint to support cultural development, create community-driven initiatives, and foster sustainable arts programs that enhance the cultural vibrancy and economic well-being of the region.
We partner with arts organisations and private businesses to strengthen the creative sector, facilitate collaborative projects, and promote arts-based initiatives that contribute to the region’s cultural growth and creative industry prosperity.
