Greater Hume artist and dancer Remy Rochester has taken to one of Australia’s biggest stages, delivering a standout performance at the 2026 Adelaide Fringe with their contemporary dance-theatre work Please… Continue?.

Supported through a Regional Arts NSW Quick Response Grant, funded by Regional Arts Australia, administered by Regional Arts NSW, and auspiced by Murray Arts, the opportunity enabled Rochester to present their work to national audiences at one of the country’s premier arts festivals.

Created and performed by Remy Rochester alongside Angus Onley, Please… Continue? was praised by critics for its “playful theatricality and sophisticated choreography,” with reviewer Kate Gaul describing the work as “a heartfelt homage to not knowing – and to the beautifully absurd ways we continue reaching for one another anyway.”

The performance was also commended for its technical precision, dynamic partnering and emotional nuance, with Rochester’s stage presence singled out as bringing “undeniable charisma” and “a clear creative vision” to the work.

Murray Arts is proud to support regional artists in accessing opportunities like this through auspicing support, helping local creatives bring their work to new audiences and national platforms.

The Regional Arts NSW Quick Response Grant program plays a vital role in helping regional artists seize time-sensitive professional development and presentation opportunities—ensuring that talented creatives from communities like Greater Hume can participate in significant arts and cultural events across Australia.

Remy’s success at Adelaide Fringe is a fantastic example of the calibre of artistic talent emerging from our region, and the importance of continued investment in pathways that help regional artists grow their careers.
