A new partnership between Old Stone Hall and HotHouse Theatre is set to bring a new chapter of live music experiences to Albury-Wodonga, with a series of intimate performances launching at The Butter Factory Theatre this spring.

The expansion of the live music series will further connect regional music lovers with acclaimed Australian artists through carefully curated performances designed to create meaningful connections between musicians and audiences. The opening program features Meg Washington performing on 9 October 2026, followed by Mama Kin Spender’s Singing Roadshow featuring Emily Lubitz on 22 November 2026.

More than just a series of concerts, the partnership represents an exciting step forward for the region’s live music ecosystem — demonstrating the impact that collaboration between independent artists, presenters and cultural organisations can have in creating sustainable opportunities for audiences and performers.

Beechworth success story expands to border community

The series builds on the success of Old Stone Hall’s highly successful live music program in Beechworth, which has grown over the past three years into one of the region’s most respected intimate music experiences.

Founded by photographer, promoter and creative producer Erin Davis alongside musician Sal Kimber, Old Stone Hall began as an artist-led initiative focused on creating welcoming spaces for exceptional live music. Since launching, the venue has hosted more than 25 performances featuring artists including Ben Lee, Liz Stringer, Ruby Gill, Kankawa Nagarra, Mick Thomas, Jordie Lane, Didirri and Rowena Wise.

The program has attracted audiences from across regional Victoria and beyond, demonstrating the strong demand for high-quality cultural experiences outside metropolitan centres.

For Erin Davis, expanding into Albury-Wodonga is a return to familiar ground. Having grown up in Albury and developed a passion for live music and independent artists, Erin has long believed in the potential of regional communities to support ambitious creative projects.

The new partnership with HotHouse provides an opportunity to share the Old Stone Hall experience with a wider audience and continue building pathways for artists to connect with regional communities.

Strengthening the region’s creative ecosystem through collaboration

The partnership highlights the important role that collaboration plays in growing regional arts and cultural opportunities.

By bringing together Old Stone Hall’s expertise in artist-led music programming with HotHouse’s established reputation in Albury-Wodonga, the partnership creates new possibilities for audiences, artists and the broader creative sector.

The Butter Factory provides an ideal setting for this next stage, with the 200-capacity venue offering an intimate environment where audiences can experience performances up close while supporting touring artists.

For regional communities, access to diverse, high-quality arts experiences plays an important role in strengthening local identity, encouraging cultural participation and supporting the broader creative economy.

The partnership also reflects the importance of investing in cultural infrastructure and creating spaces where artists can tour, audiences can gather, and creative communities can thrive.

A new destination for live music in Albury-Wodonga

Audiences can expect a carefully curated program that prioritises artist care, quality production and a welcoming atmosphere. The series will include opportunities to purchase merchandise directly from artists, supporting musicians and contributing to the sustainability of regional touring.

With further artists and genres expected to join the program in 2027, the partnership marks an exciting development for live music in the region.

The arrival of this new series demonstrates what is possible when passionate individuals and organisations work together — creating opportunities for artists, enriching audiences and strengthening the cultural fabric of regional communities.
