Supported by the Murray Arts UNLOCKED program, community music leader Leanne Murphy will share a range of simple and effective techniques for helping to facilitate group singing, such as modelling, call and response, using hands to indicate pitch, cueing entries and cutoffs, understanding vocal ranges, choosing appropriate songs, setting group boundaries, listening for ways to improve sound, providing resources, and keeping singers coming back for more.
Leanne has been teaching group music and performing arts in various settings for over 30 years, and most recently co-lead 100+ singers for this year’s Yackandandah Folk Festival Community Choir.
