About the artist
Summer Matthews is a Barkindji/Ngiyampaa woman of the Eagle Hawk skin group. Summer draws on her Aboriginal heritage to create images of her family’s Country along the Darling River and sites around Mt Manara, where the Rainbow Serpent, Ngatji, emerges from the ground to create the form of Country.
