Understanding anatomy helps the drawing to feel natural and believable. It will help you to understand what gives the body shape and structure. When a drawing looks “off” knowledge of anatomy helps identify issues with proportions, muscle placement, or bony landmarks (e.g., collarbones, pelvis).

Drawing the human body involves 3 major things;
Gesture
Structure
Rendering and shading

This session will cover the basics of anatomy in relation to structure. The session will cover both skeletal and muscle anatomy.

Using the model, we will get to know the important landmarks on the body and how they interact with each other so that you will understand what is happening when you draw the figure.

We will not be going into detail about anatomy but will cover enough to make a more realistic representation of the human body.

All basic material are provided, however please bring your preferred materials.
