New work by Bev Hoffmann
OPENING EVENT: SAT 26 September, 4–6pm at Gateway Gallery
🜁 Ekho is concerned with the mechanisms of memory—what is preserved, what is lost, and what remains unseen. It examines how dominant systems—genetic, cultural, institutional—shape the archive, determining what is recorded and what is omitted.
This inquiry is not speculative; it is grounded in evidence and observation. Through the lens of palimpsest, epigenetics, and pre-literal semantics, I investigate how knowledge is transferred, both biologically and digitally.
Bev Hoffmann is interested in the development of organic materials as vessels for memory, and in the symbolic migration of information to digital formats. These processes reflect a broader human aspiration: to transcend physical limitations while remaining rooted in material reality.
