In this exhibition of new works on paper presented as part of nginha, you are here, a season of programming celebrating artists from our region, North East Victorian artist, Beth Peters considers the place of the individual in a universe of infinite complexity. These intricate and deeply personal drawings combine Peters’ ongoing interests in pattern, systems of representation, and weaving. Their finely rendered surfaces gradually revel the hand drawn nature of their construction.
Beth Peters is based in Chiltern. This is her second solo presentation at MAMA. Peters has also presented drawings as part of the textile focussed exhibition, BOUND, 2022 and works held in the MAMA collection were exhibited in Thresholds, 2024.
