Call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) – Artist interpretation of the Parliament House façade
The Parliament of NSW is seeking established and emerging artists to design creative interpretations of the NSW Parliament House façade, as seen from Macquarie Street. The digital artwork will reflect the diverse stories and cultures of our State, forging a meaningful, visual connect between the people and their parliament.
The Expression of Interest is open to all NSW artists, with Aboriginal, LGBTQIA+ and female artists strongly encouraged to apply. The façade is central to the Parliament’s identity as Australia’s oldest parliament. The design is often used and celebrated in multiple mediums, from social media and event promotion to Christmas cards and annual reports.
“This is an exciting opportunity for both new and established artists to creatively interpret our newly renovated facade, and I’m particularly delighted that their unique designs will become part of our story.” The Hon. Ben Franklin MLC, President of the Legislative Council said.
The Hon. Greg Piper MP, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, said: “The iconic facade of the Parliament is how visitors and the public first experience our historic building. This is a fantastic opportunity for artists to interact with and interpret the facade using their unique artistic style.”
“We’re excited to invite artists to share their vision of the façade. I would encourage them to bring their distinctive visual interpretation of our organisation’s identity, value and our role in the community,” Director of Communications, Engagement and Education Janson Hews said.
“We look forward to exploring the winning design concepts which will be used across our internal and external platforms.”
Please read the Expression of Interest information document on the NSW Parliament website before applying which includes the design brief, selection criteria and submission instructions.
