APRA AMCOS – Diana Torossian Emerging Songwriter Award 2025 (EOI)

APRA AMCOS has launched the inaugural Diana Torossian Emerging Songwriter Award to honour the late artist manager Diana Torossian, who passed away in September 2024 and was renowned for nurturing Australia’s most prolific songwriting talent.

Opening on 12 May 2025, the award is open to APRA AMCOS members based in Australia who are aspiring to make a career in songwriting and have already begun to establish a commercial body of work. There are two prizes: a first prize of A$5,000 cash plus A$20,000 in songwriting and mentoring sessions with industry leaders, and a second prize of a year’s career-development course (“Songwriter Success Masterplan”) at the Australian Songwriters Conference, valued at A$6,500.

Applications close at 5:30 PM (AEST) on Monday 16 June 2025, and winners will be announced at the APRA AMCOS offices in Sydney on Thursday 24 July 2025.

Opportunity Overview
Membership: Must be a current APRA AMCOS member based in Australia.

Experience: Aspiring songwriters who have already established a commercial body of work and are committed to pursuing songwriting as a career.

A$20,000 worth of songwriting and mentoring sessions, comprising five writing sessions (with Andrew Lowden (Thrones), David Musumeci & Anthony Egizii (DNA), Evie Irie, Gary Pinto and Michael Fatkin) and five mentoring sessions (with Lorrae McKenna (Golden Grants), Michael Parisi (management), Paul Harris (Warner Music A&R), Rachel Kelly (Unified Publishing) and Sammie Walsh (Beehive PR)).

Second Prize
Full enrolment in the Songwriter Success Masterplan course at the Australian Songwriters Conference (valued at A$6,500).
