An Evening of Art, Music, and Connection by the Marraboor River
On the banks of the Marraboor River, an unforgettable evening is set to unfold, bringing together a diverse range of artists (some of them from our Murray region), musicians, and performers in a celebration of creativity, connection, and the exploration of borders. The event, hosted by the Borders Collective and ACRE Project, will take place on [insert date] and promises to be a unique fusion of firelight, art, music, and community spirit.
The night will feature a variety of performances, including live music, dance, poetry, improvisation, and sculptural installations—all set against the backdrop of the tranquil river and illuminated by the glow of a warming fire. The event explores the concept of “borders”—both seen and unseen—inviting artists to reflect on how these boundaries shape our lives, our art, and our relationships. Through sound, movement, and form, the artists will share their interpretations and responses to this theme, offering the audience a chance to experience art in a truly immersive way.
The evening will also feature a selection of stunning projections, adding an extra layer of visual intrigue as they interact with the environment, and a series of sculptures that will transform the riverside into an open-air gallery.
Among the featured performers and artists are:
- Adrian Sherriff, a master multi-instrumentalist whose music spans genres and traditions.
- Kristian Rule, an award-winning film composer and instrumentalist known for his evocative soundscapes.
- Tanya George, an innovative live vocal looping artist whose performances challenge the boundaries of voice and technology.
- Imparja Petit, a didgeridoo player and Aboriginal educator who brings a deep connection to cultural heritage.
- Carolyn Bock, a celebrated film, TV, and theatre actor.
- John Stephen Britten, a multi-talented artist and poet with a passion for storytelling and improvisation.
- Trevor Flinn, a cross-media artist interested in the stories and legends of the land.
Other participating artists include performers, choreographers, sculptors, and visual artists such as Rhae Kendrigan, Kris Tito, Maggie Ellis, Suzanne Connelly (Kildomitis), Carmarose, Ellen Clark, and many more. Together, these artists will create an evening that invites dialogue, sparks new perspectives, and celebrates the creative spirit of the region.
“This event is about more than just art and music—it’s about bringing people together to reflect on the boundaries that define us, and how we can transcend them through creativity and collaboration,” says [Organizer Name], a spokesperson for the event. “It’s an opportunity to experience something new and connect with the community in a meaningful way.”
Whether you’re drawn to the rich soundscapes, the captivating performances, or the thought-provoking installations, this event promises to offer something for everyone. Attendees can enjoy good food, warm conversations, and the beauty of nature as they immerse themselves in an evening of artistic exploration.
The event is free to attend, and all are welcome to join in the celebration.
