I AM, I HAVE – Artist Talk & Exhibition with Emanuela Milosavlijevic

I AM, I HAVE is both a statement pointing to identity and an effort to focus on the present.

I’m a local artist and my life journey has been centered on trying to break through inner barriers to creativity. I value art above most things and wanted to share my battle notes with you and show you some of my works in a friendly and warm setting.

My perspective isn’t that of a person who has been able to explore their passions from an early age and build their life on that. My experience is the opposite, and I suspect a lot of other people fall into this category one way or another.

We’ll explore what creativity is at all, what those inner restrictions look and feel like and how to build a path to your authentic self, understanding yourself through the lens of ancestry, culture and personal characteristics. Because building a path to yourself is really the hardest part of the creative journey, in my view, and it is ongoing.

I’ll talk about how to approach the question of technical ability when you’re starting off a bit later on in life and break down where inspiration comes from by talking through some of my paintings and how they came to be.
