Spring Ditch is our jam-packed, fun-filled annual family event that presents a smorgasbord of original Australian music and, for the first time, the legendary Japanese Buddhist rock sensation Buddhadatta, mixing their dark and mysterious tribal rhythms and throat singing vocals with a playful sense of fun. Also featured on the lineup are Queen of Hearts, an all female powerhouse Mariarchi band, the melodic charms and dreamy pop and folk sounds of Amaya Laucirica, The Lulublues with their soul and bluesy rock swagger and finally the bounce and cheeky ska lyrics of of the 1960’s inspired Skabhangers. DJ’s The Prof and Jane Doe take the musical sounds to another level between bands.
Add to the day of family fun with the Jamswells Open Mic stage, Kids Olympiad, The Golden Boot Toss, The Stanley Smoke Up competition and a host of other fun activities for the whole family, Spring Ditch is a ‘tip of the hat’ to the historic Stanley New Year’s Day Sports held for over 140 years. The event sits in the natural amphitheatre of the beautiful Stanley Recreation Reserve near Beechworth. The Madman’s Gully Bar and the local food court provides all the refreshments you need need and there’s even a shuttle bus from Beechworth to Stanley for those who want to leave the car behind.
