Hello

October is bringing some warmer days, explosions of flowers and birds, fresh optimism and some staff changes at Murray Arts.

As most of you know our Executive Director Alyce Fisher is going on parental leave as of today and Susan Reid has slid into the drivers seat. We welcome Susan to the team and big love and best wishes to Alyce for the imminent arrival of her first child!

There continues to be a steady stream of grants available on both sides of the border and we want to see our local artists benefit from these grants. We know grant writing can be daunting however we've got a few opportunities coming up to make the process less overwhelming.

And as we all start to emerge from COVID and winter, there's a rich offering of exhibitions and events in our region which we are excited about experiencing in real life !

Looking forward to seeing you!

Big love to Alyce and Seth- we can't wait to meet baby!

Tallangatta Mural Project

Congratulations to Chiltern-based artist Kirrily Anderson and Towong Shire on two new murals in the Tallangatta town centre.

With perfect weather and easing of restrictions, now is the perfect time to take a drive and check these amazing murals out!

And if you happen to be in Chiltern over the next few weeks check out Kirrily's WIP mural in partnership with DELWP.

Murray Arts is Reading

Someone once told me that books come to us when we are ready for them and in this case it's true! - but in this case, also influenced by an observant, intuitive and thoughtful friend.

A casual conversation where I flippantly mentioned about enjoying writing resulted in this book arriving in the post packaged up with some other goodies!

Writing is something I've loved but not fully explored after being told over the years that I wasn't a good writer, but this book is changing my view on my writing.

Beautifully written (duh of course it is!) but with humour and strong simple tips it's found me smiling and even laughing out loud as well as new-found confidence to whack a keyboard to write..... although there's something so magical and cathartic about writing with pen and paper.

Have you read this? What did you think? Got any hot writing tips for me? Wanna publish my work and give me a big fat advance? Tell me here!
