Funding Opportunities for NSW & VIC Creatives and Our FREE Funding Forum

A new wave of funding has been announced via the Regional Arts Fund in both NSW & VIC, in response to COVID-19 and the devastating bushfires our region experienced at the beginning of the year. We get it that you may be confused, as to which fund/s you could be applying for and the age-old Border issue is very tricky. So, in an attempt to help, we will be delivering two FREE FUNDING FORUMS, via ZOOM, on Thursday 16 July 2020. We will cover the many grants OPEN at the moment and break down the criteria, eligibility and what kind of proposals will be more likely to be successful in receiving funding. We will also give some grant writing tips and there will be many opportunities to ask questions. The forum is for independent artists, collectives and organisations who live work and connect with the Murray Arts footprint (AlburyCity, Greater Hume, Federation, Wodonga, Indigo & Towong). Please sign up via Eventbrite and we will send out the ZOOM link and password, one hour before the Forum you sign up for. Note: both Forums will be delivering exactly the same content, so you only need to attend one.

Funding also means ongoing research and groundwork to be ready for any applications, as well as maintaining the resolve to keep trying after an unsuccessful attempt.

Participants will learn:
  • The different kinds of funding available
  • Creating a Grant Folder (and being ready for opportunities)
  • Researching Funding and Considering Applications
  • Writing the Proposal – and avoiding the Common Errors
  • Creating a Grant Calendar
  • The Acquittal Process – and how to Recover from Setbacks
  • Five Ways to FAIL at Grants.
The topics are covered with fun, flair and pictures in a relaxed and informal environment. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, share their stories, and get to know each other!

Participants will receive:
  • A PDF Workbook containing additional materials and tools to support their learning;
  • Lifetime access to a dedicated Funding Dropbox folder full of additional resources and help;
  • Access to additional free resources and suggestions for professional grant assistance.
About the Presenter:

Business advisor and creative industries expert Monica Davidson from the Creative Plus Business Group. Monica is a writer and filmmaker by trade who learned how to run a successful creative business and now shares that knowledge with others.
