Helen Newman
Based in the border town of Albury/Wodonga on Wiradjuri country Helen Newman is an award winning Australian filmmaker and video artist. Her work has taken her around the globe and into a broad range of situations: war zones, refugee camps, ancient cities, urban and remote communities. Her collaboration with a variety of performance, visual and sound artists have resulted in a varied collection of multi-platform, site specific and performance-based works.
Helen’s projection works re-imagine our every-day environments with a focus on playful, unexpected storytelling that encourages the viewer to explore anew their relationship to our world.
