Expressions of Interest are now open for inclusion in the Circuit Open Studios Program 4 - 7 October 2019 (proposed dates/ subject to change).

Murray Arts are currently seeking Expressions of Interest to participate in the 2019 Circuit Open Studios program – open to all artforms and we are seeking interest from studios, galleries or community spaces.

An initiative of Murray Arts, Circuit will invite galleries, artist studios and community spaces from across our region to open their doors and showcase their art-making processes in a program of events, designed to shine a light on the arts and artists in our region. Murray Arts aim to curate a tour among the spaces which will consist of bus tours and self-driven experiences.

The curated program will potentially be held over a single weekend, and an open invitation to enthusiastic supporters of the arts, or those who have never visited an artist studio before, to witness the ideas that unfold within these creative spaces.

A key aspect of this program will be its promotion of the Border and North East as a vibrant arts community. It will be a rare opportunity for artists, collectives and galleries to work alongside their diverse range of peers from around the region while creating an opportunity to generate sales and commissions.

We are inviting submissions from galleries, artist-run studios and community spaces in the following Local Government Areas (LGA): AlburyCity, City of Wodonga, Greater Hume Shire, Federation Council, Indigo Shire Council or Towong Shire.

Murray Arts ran Circuit in 2015 and our aim, starting from 2019 is to continue running this initiative biennially.

Creatives can open their doors over the weekend to demystify the creative art-making process.

  • Guide visitors around your studio and/or space in an innovative way.
  • Individual artists, artist collectives, businesses and organisations can combine together to create an event in collaboration e.g. artists could pair their work together for a group show, which can feature on the circuit.

  • Exposure to new audiences across the Circuit Open Studios program.
  • The opportunity to sell work directly to the visiting public.
  • Inclusion in the guide map, distributed throughout the region.
  • Online promotion via Murray Arts website and social media platforms.
  • Inclusion in a publicity campaign in the lead up to the weekend, including promotion through key regional tourism bodies.
  • Opportunity to meet and network with other artists in your area.

There may be a fee of $50 to $100 to be in included in 2019 Circuit. This will go towards developing and delivering the event including marketing, project management and buses. This fee will be negotiated during the program development phase. Note: No cost to submit an EOI.
