Smart Arts is an annual professional development program delivered in partnership by Murray Arts & Wodonga Council.
COVID-19 has thrown previously unimaginable challenges at every creative industry, locally & globally. As we adapt to the easing of crippling restrictions and what we can/cannot do here on the Border, we wanted to take the opportunity to highlight our local professional performing arts community, in this unique forum/play reading delivered via ZOOM. We will chat with some of our local professional playwrights about their practices, be treated to a LIVE rehearsed reading of one of, the award-winning Brendan Hogan’s current works in development, by a cast of local professionals and there will even be an opportunity at the end to interact with the cast/audience just like we are used to when we used to be able to attend these in real life.
Host: Alyce Fisher, Executive Director of Murray Arts and Independent Performing Artist
Independent Local Theatre Panel: Racheal Oak Butler (Gamilaroi), Alyson Evans & Brendan Hogan
Rehearsed Play Reading: Play #4
Playwright: Brendan Hogan
Director: Alyson Evans
Cast: Rachel McNamara, Timothy Martin, Kerryn Beatty and Chris Pidd
