Melbourne or Sydney? Georgia Marlowe Can't choose. Both too fabulous!

Vegemite or honey? Georgia Marlowe I love both together on hot toast on a cold winter's afternoon.

Sunset or sunrise? Georgia Marlowe Sunset
Jenny Hodges Although I think I would like to consider myself a morning person in reality I’m probably not, as I do like a sleep in. I also think I’m probably more productive towards the end of the day! There is also a the golden light in the evenings when the sun is setting that is just beautiful.

Local flavour – What inspires you most about living and practicing as an artist in the Murray region? Jenny Hodges Immediate space! After living in Sydney for many years, just to be able to have a functioning studio space makes a big difference. Areas for a wheel, a kiln, drying space and glazing area. Just so you can go in and pick up where you left off helps in the production process.  It is an added bonus that I can look out of the window to rolling green hills (season dependant) and an enormous blue sky!

Local flavour – What inspires you most about living and practicing as an artist in the Murray region?  Georgia Marlowe  Floating with the kids down the red Murray at Thomsons Beach Cobram on a scorching hot day. An accepting open minded and supportive community. Excellent local wine can be very inspiring too!

How did you find your way into being part of the makers market? Jenny Hodges Erin Beechworth Photographers and Old Stone Hall Beechworth, enquired as to whether I would be interested in participating once she knew I was a ceramicist.

How did you find your way into being part of the Makers Market? Georgia Marlowe I was lucky enough to be approached to participate

The Art Life - What one piece of advice would you give someone thinking of a career in the arts? Jenny Hodges To seek advice, knowledge, help from those already practicing an art. From my experience in the Ceramics world, artists have been incredibly forthcoming and generous with their knowledge about everything from what clay to use to how to get my kiln to reach temperature. I have learnt the most from talking to people first hand.

The Art Life – What one piece of advice would you give to someone thinking of a career in the arts? Georgia Marlowe Better an oops than a what if!

What would be your dream project?
Jenny Hodges Really just to produce small scale functional and beautiful pieces that are used and appreciated every day.
